Alex (Oleksiy) Varfolomiyev has a diverse work experience in various fields. Alex (Oleksiy) started their career in 2004 as a PhD Scholar & TA at the Ukrainian Engineering Pedagogics Academy, where they worked on the synthesis of a neural network controller for the aiming and stabilizing system. From 2007 to 2008, they worked as a Research Assistant at Dortmund University of Technology, contributing to the design and implementation of a high-performance computing package for solving large-scale Finite Element problems.

In 2009, Alex joined the New Jersey Institute of Technology and Rutgers University as a PhD Scholar at the Department of Mathematical Sciences, focusing on developing an efficient boundary integral method for stiff fluid interface problems. Alongside their research, they also served as an Adjunct Faculty member from 2015 to 2016, where they designed and implemented a Shiny web app Course Success System to measure and manage student performance.

In 2016, Alex transitioned into the industry as a Data Scientist at Options Group, building relationships with the company's CTO and CGO and providing data-driven solutions to help achieve business growth objectives. Alex (Oleksiy) also set up people analytics practices for the company.

In 2017, Alex joined Byteflow Dynamics as a Machine Learning Engineer, where they applied Python and NLP models to perform sentiment analysis for finance-related media sources. Alex (Oleksiy)'swork led to a significant increase in investor commitments to the client's asset management products.

Since 2018, Alex has been working as the Director of Data Science at Algomatic, focusing on blockchain consulting for clients in alternative asset management, DeFi, and digital collectibles. Alex (Oleksiy) performs market and client data analysis, benchmarking, risk assessment, and reporting, assisting projects from pre-launch to growth and continuous support.

From 1997 to 2003, they attended V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and earned a Bachelor's Degree in Applied Mathematics.

From 2003 to 2004, they pursued further education at V. N. Karazin Kharkiv National University and obtained a Master's Degree in Applied Mathematics.

Subsequently, in 2004, they attended the National Technical University "Kharkiv Polytechnic Institute" and completed a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Control Systems and Processes by 2007.

Afterward, from 2009 to 2015, Alex enrolled at the New Jersey Institute of Technology where they achieved a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Applied Mathematics.

In 2018, they pursued a Master of Business Administration - MBA degree at the Keller Graduate School of Management of DeVry University, completing it in 2020.

Alongside their formal education, Alex has obtained several certifications. In 2015, they earned a certification in Machine Learning from Stanford University. In 2016, they obtained certifications in Data Science, French Fluency (Advanced), German Fluency (Intermediate), and Spanish Fluency (Advanced) from Coursera and Duolingo. In 2017, they achieved a certification in Machine Learning Specialization from Coursera. Lastly, in 2016, they obtained an elementary fluency certification in Italian from Duolingo.
