Valentina Tortolini

Valentina Tortolini has a diverse work experience spanning various industries and roles. Valentina started their career in 2002 as a Junior Researcher at Cispel Confservizi Toscana and later worked as a Junior Researcher at Università di Firenze Dipartimento di Statistica G. Parenti. In 2010, they became a Researcher at IMT Lucca Institute for Advanced Studies, where they analyzed complex economic systems and managed large databases.

Valentina also worked as a Consultant at The Cambridge Management Consulting Labs and Roche in 2015 and 2016, respectively. Valentina then joined IMT Lucca Institute for Advanced Studies as a Post-Doctoral Fellow from 2016 to 2019, focusing on empirical distribution properties and conducting statistical analysis.

In 2019, Valentina became a Senior Data Scientist at 3rdPlace | user & customer AI, where they contributed their expertise in data science. Valentina later joined Università degli Studi della Tuscia as a Contract Professor of Industrial Informatics and Web Analytics from 2020 to 2022.

Valentina's most recent position is as the Marketing Science Director at ByTek | Performance Marketing AI, a role they have held since September 2021. In this role, they are responsible for marketing science activities and methodologies, utilizing advanced statistical analysis strategies. Valentina also coordinates the data science and marketing technology teams.

Throughout their career, Valentina has demonstrated strong analytical skills and expertise in statistical analysis, marketing science, and data science.

Valentina Tortolini obtained their Laurea Magistrale degree in Scienze Statistiche ed Attuariali from Università degli Studi di Firenze, where they studied from 1996 to 2001. Later, from 2008 to 2012, they pursued a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Applied Statistics at the same university. In 2009 and 2010, they also received a scholarship for Applied Statistics from The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Additionally, in July 2016, Valentina attended the BIG DIVE 5 course on hacking development, visualization, and data science, organized by the TOP-IX Consortium, obtaining a certification.
