Xochitl Flores

Xochitl Flores is the current Director at C.E.D.A. Xochitl has over 15 years of experience in city government, starting as the Chief of Staff in the 1st Ward Aldermanic Office. Xochitl then went on to become the Assistant Commissioner in the Department of Planning & Development and later the Department of Housing & Economic Development. In their role as Assistant Commissioner, they were responsible for managing the Community Outreach and Customer Service unit, informing the public about available programs and services, and responding to customer inquiries. Xochitl also served as departmental liaison with the City’s 3-1-1 center, sister agencies, City departments, and aldermen. In addition to their work in city government, Xochitl has also been involved in community organizations focused on economic development and job creation. Xochitl is a dedicated public servant with a commitment to making their community a better place for everyone.

Xochitl Flores has a certificate in Civic Leadership from the Civic Leadership Academy at the University of Chicago and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Northwestern University.
