You might say rural telecommunications is in Christa’s blood, as she is the oldest grandchild of Charles and Dorothea, and the fourth generation to carry on the legacy of FTC. An attorney by education, Christa rejoined the family business in 2012 as In-House counsel. She served as the VP of Operations until 2022 when she was appointed as CEO. Christa is passionate about sustaining the vitality of small-town America and is committed to seeing rural Mississippians thrive by bringing all the benefits robust broadband access can offer. She was recently appointed by Governor Tate Reeves to the Mississippi Department of Information Technology Services Board of Directors. She was awarded “Grassroots Advocate of the Year” in 2020 by NTCA- The Rural Broadband Association. Christa is active with many broadband organizations including as President Georgia Telecommunications Association, a member of the NTCA- the Rural Broadband Association Government Affairs Committee, and the Mississippi Public Service Commission's Connect Mississippi Committee. Today, in her role as General Counsel and CEO at FTC, she remains a zealous advocate for the rural broadband industry at the national, regional, and state levels and enjoys being closely involved with shaping policy which nurtures rural connectivity.
