Barry Bastiaansen

Barry Bastiaansen has a diverse range of work experience in the field of information security. Barry has served as the Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) at various companies, including C. Steinweg Group and Gemeente Eindhoven. Barry has also been a cyber security consultant and a member of the robotics and autonomous systems cell within the 13th Light Brigade of the Netherlands Army. Additionally, they have held roles as a board member and business relations specialist at AFCEA International and a senior advisor on information security at Facilitair Management Haaglanden, Ministry of Interior and Kingdom Relations. Barry has also been involved in industry associations, such as ASD Europe. Barry has a background in intelligence analysis and has worked with NATO in that capacity.

- In 1996, they obtained a foundation degree in Communication Science from the University of Amsterdam.

- In 1997, they completed a Bachelor's degree in operation/logistics from the Royal Military Academy.

- In 2016, they completed a certification program for a Certified Information Privacy Professional/Europe (CIPP/E) at Tshukudu Technology College (TSTC).

- In 2017, they obtained certifications for Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) from Tshukudu Technology College (TSTC) and Certified in Risk and Information Systems Controls (CRISC) from The Security Academy.

- In 2018, they earned the title of Certified Chief Information Security Officer (C/CISO) from TSTC, Tshukudu Technology College, EC Council, with a specialization in Information Security management.

- In 2020, they completed the program for Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) from TSTC, Tshukudu Technology College.

- In 2023, they will obtain the ISO 27001 Lead Auditor - Information Security Certification from PECB.
