Robert Deans has worked in the field of technology since 2000. Robert began their career as a Principal Investigator and Senior Scientist at ICx Technologies and Nomadics, Inc. where they established their Cambridge, MA Research and Development (R&D) laboratory and led their polymer development efforts. In 2005, they became a Visiting Scientist at the Institute for Soldier Nanotechnologies/Massachusetts Institute of Technology. In 2010, they joined FLIR Systems as a Product Manager and Project Manager, where they managed internally and externally funded programs and worked on various R&D efforts. In 2016, they joined C2Sense, Inc. as their Chief Technology Officer, and later became VP of Advanced Technology, VP Applications Engineering and Product Manager of Authentication LOB, and VP of Product Development. In their role as VP of Product Development, they were responsible for the design, development, and deployment of C2Sense's first products.
Robert Deans has a long history of education, beginning with a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from the University of Glasgow, which they obtained in 1993. Robert then went on to pursue a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) in Organic Chemistry from the University of Massachusetts Amherst, which they completed in 1998. Afterward, they worked as a Post-doctoral Research Associate in Polymer Chemistry at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology from 1998 to 1999. In addition to their formal education, Robert Deans has obtained three certifications since 2019, including a Negotiation and Leadership Certificate from The Program on Negotiation, a Licensed Scrum Product Owner from Scrum Inc., and Foundations, Focus, and Build Certifications from Pragmatic Institute (Pragmatic Marketing + TDI).
