Vasant Naik

Vasant Naik is a seasoned finance professional currently serving as Managing Director and Head of the Systematic Strategies Group and the Research and Innovation Group at CPP Investments since December 2019. Prior to this, Vasant held the position of Executive Vice President at PIMCO from October 2011 to November 2019, and served as Managing Director at Nomura International Plc. from November 2008 to September 2011, as well as at Lehman Brothers from 1998 to 2008. Vasant's academic background includes a Ph.D. in Finance from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business, and prior studies at the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore. Vasant also contributed to academia as an Associate Professor at the University of British Columbia's Sauder School of Business from September 1988 to July 1998.
