Evan Howard has extensive experience in the legal and regulatory aspects of pension and benefits. Evan is currently serving as the Chief Legal and Regulatory Affairs Officer at CAAT Pension Plan, where they lead the legal, policy, and public affairs groups. Prior to this role, Evan held various positions at CAAT, including General Counsel and VP of Pension Management.
Before joining CAAT, Evan worked as a Partner at Norton Rose Fulbright and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, where they specialized in providing legal and regulatory advice on pension and benefits issues. Evan was regularly recognized by Best Lawyers in Canada for their expertise in Employee Benefits Law.
Evan started their career at Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer as an Associate.
Evan Howard completed their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and History at the University of Toronto from 1987 to 1991. Evan then pursued a Bachelor of Laws degree, specializing in Law, at the University of Western Ontario from 1991 to 1994. In 1996, Evan obtained their certification as a Lawyer from the Law Society of Ontario. Later on, in 2000, they received the certification of Solicitor from the Law Society of England & Wales. Additionally, Evan enrolled in the Executive Leadership Program at the University of Toronto - Rotman School of Management in 2018, where they are currently pursuing further education.
