David J. Chang, MD, MPH, FACR

David J. Chang, MD, MPH, FACR has extensive work experience in the field of medicine and research. David J. is currently serving as the Chief Medical Officer at Cabaletta Bio, where they focus on the development of T cell therapies for B cell-mediated autoimmune diseases. Prior to this, Dr. Chang worked at AstraZeneca as the Senior VP & Head of Global Medicines Development for Inflammation, Autoimmunity & Neuroscience from 2015 to 2019. David J. also held leadership positions at GlaxoSmithKline, where they served as the VP and Head of R&D Clinical Development for Immunology & US Medical, Immunology, Oncology, Rare Diseases from 2007 to 2015. Before joining GlaxoSmithKline, they worked at Wyeth Pharmaceuticals as the Senior Medical Director and Global Therapeutic Area Head for Rheumatology and Inflammation from 2004 to 2007. Dr. Chang's career includes experience at Merck and Co., where they served as the Director of Clinical Development Program for Autoimmunity, Inflammation & Analgesia from 2000 to 2004. David J. began their medical career as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine from 1997 to 2000 and at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School from 1994 to 1997. Dr. Chang has a breadth of experience in various areas of medicine and research, making him a highly qualified and accomplished professional in their field.

David J. Chang, MD, MPH, FACR pursued their higher education at several prestigious institutions. David J. completed their Bachelor of Science (BS), specializing in Biology Research Intensive, at Yale University. Later, they earned their medical degree (MD) from New York University School of Medicine. Following this, Dr. Chang obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH) in Epidemiology and Outcomes from Emory University Rollins School of Public Health.

Continuing their education, they joined Cornell University Medical Center and The Hospital for Special Surgery for a Rheumatology Fellowship. Additionally, Dr. Chang completed their Internal Medicine Residency at Cornell University Medical Center, The NY Hospital, and Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center.

Dr. Chang's accomplishments are further highlighted by their recognition as a Fellow of the American College of Rheumatology (FACR).
