Terrence Willett

Dean, Research, Planning & Institutional Effectiveness at Cabrillo College

Terrence Willett is the current Dean of Research, Planning, and Institutional Effectiveness at Cabrillo College. Terrence has been in this position since October of 1999. Prior to that, they were a Research Technician at the college from July of 2001 to September of 2005. Terrence also held the position of Director of Research at Gavilan College from July 2001 to September 2005. In this role, they conducted database and survey research for program evaluation, enrollment management, virtual fact book, grant applications and evaluations, placement test validation, prerequisite validation, mandatory reporting, and key performance indicators. Terrence also received approval for all placement tests including a locally developed English as a Second Language test. Terrence has also participated in college planning and governance committees including being the supervisor representative on President’s Council and a lead resource on the College of Choice Taskforce for college quality improvement. Terrence has presented findings at meetings and conferences and managed IPEDS submissions.

Terrence Willett has a Master's in Environmental Studies, with a focus on Forest Ecology and Restoration, from San Jose State University. Terrence also has an undergraduate degree in Psychology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Terrence has taught Science and Music at Cabrillo College.

They work with Verónica León - Director, EOPS, Amy Lehman-Sexton - VP, Student Services, and Scott Johnson - Director, Community & Contract Education. Their manager is Matthew Wetstein, Superintendent & President.
