Chuck Alpert

Chuck Alpert is a highly experienced professional in the fields of computer science and software engineering, currently serving as Senior Software Group Director and Senior Architect at Cadence Design Systems since January 2014. Prior experience includes roles as Manager of the Design Productivity Group at IBM Research from 2007 to January 2014, where Chuck developed next-generation physical synthesis algorithms and flows. Chuck's career began at IBM Corp as a Research Staff Member from June 1996 to June 2007, and academic credentials include a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCLA (1991-1996) as well as a Bachelor of Science in Math & Computational Science from Stanford University (1987-1991), along with a second Bachelor's degree in Math & Computational Sciences and History from the same institution.
