William Hung

William Hung is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in the semiconductor industry. Currently serving as Corporate Vice President of R&D at Cadence since January 2019, William has previously held key roles at Synopsys Inc. from November 2007 to January 2019, where responsibilities included emulation, prototyping, simulation, and various verification methods, advancing from Senior Staff Engineer to Group Director. Prior to Synopsys, William worked at Synplicity as Senior Staff Engineer/Director focusing on EDA development and at Intel as a Senior Component Design Engineer specializing in formal methods for microprocessor design and verification. William began a career in the field during an internship at National Instruments. Academically, William holds a PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Portland State University and both a Master’s and Bachelor’s degree in the same field from The University of Texas at Austin.
