David Watson

David Watson has extensive work experience in the energy industry, with a focus on strategy development, regulatory affairs, and market design. David is currently the Head of Energy Transition at Cadent Gas Limited, where they provide leadership and advisory services for the company's transition to net zero. Previously, they served as the Managing Director of Heat Trust, where they oversaw external affairs, strategy development, and operational management. David also worked at Centrica, first as the Director of Group Strategy, supporting the development of the company's corporate strategy, and then as the Head of Regulatory (Market Review), leading Centrica's input to the Competition and Market Authority's investigation into the energy market. Prior to that, they held various positions at British Gas, including Head of Market Design & New Energy, Industry Manager, and Regulatory (Change) Manager. Throughout their career, David has demonstrated expertise in analytics, scenario development, regulatory input, and stakeholder management.

David Watson earned a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Business and Law from Solent University, where they studied from 1996 to 1999.
