David Chen has had extensive work experience in the software engineering field. David began their career at Cisco in 2009 as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked until 2012. Afterwards, they joined Motorola Mobility as an Embedded Video Software Engineer, focusing on developing motion vector algorithms for video encoding. In 2013, David moved on to Avast Mobile Enterprise (formerly Remotium, Inc.), where they served as the Video Engineering Lead. Their responsibilities included integrating WebRTC with the media pipeline and optimizing video encoding efficiency for network limitations. David then transitioned to Avast in 2015, working as a Lead Software Engineer. During their time there, they designed and built an adaptive media processing pipeline and led WebRTC integration for the Remotium client. Finally, David joined Caffeine in 2017 as a Staff Software Engineer and was later promoted to Principal Engineer in August 2021.
David Chen completed their Bachelor's degree in Electronics Engineering at Simon Fraser University in 2007. Following that, they pursued a Master's degree in Electrical Engineering at UCLA from 2007 to 2009.
