Rachel Horwat

Rachel Horwat is an experienced leader in sustainable investments, currently serving as the Director of Sustainable Investments at Caisse de dépôt et placement du Québec (CDPQ) since May 2024. Previously, at Ivanhoé Cambridge, Rachel held the roles of Director of Decarbonization and Climate Change and Senior Manager of Sustainability, focusing on net zero carbon strategies and evaluating ESG risks and opportunities. Rachel's early career includes positions as an Environmental Consultant at YWCA, where a sustainability consulting service for non-profits was developed, and roles in various organizations such as Société de développement environnemental de Rosemont and the International Federation of Organic Agriculture Movements, emphasizing environmental initiatives and research. Rachel holds a Master of Science in Environmental Sciences, Policy and Management from Central European University and Lund University, complemented by a Bachelor's degree in Geography and Environment from The University of Winnipeg.
