Derek Gragson is a Professor in the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, having held various academic positions throughout their career, including roles as an Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, and Professor of Chemistry. They served as Associate Dean of the College of Science and Math, where they managed college operations and programs. Derek completed a Ph.D. in Physical Chemistry at the University of Oregon and earned a Bachelor's degree in Chemistry from California State University-East Bay. Currently, Gragson is the Interim Associate Vice Provost for Academic Innovations and Programs at California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo after concluding a postdoctoral fellowship at Harvey Mudd College.
