Seth Pollack

Professor, Director Of Service Learning at Cal State Monterey Bay

Seth Pollack has a diverse work experience spanning several years. Seth'smost recent position was at California State University Monterey Bay, where they served as a Professor and Director of Service Learning. In this role, they managed a comprehensive service learning program and led faculty development efforts. Seth also taught courses on service, social responsibility, and social justice. Additionally, Seth has worked as an Adjunct Professor at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, a Grant Reviewer at the Community Foundation for Monterey County, and as a Peer Reviewer for the Michigan Journal of Community Service Learning. Seth has also held roles as a Member of Friends of Mali, a Member of the Advisory Board for Partners for Peace, and as a Project Coordinator for the FIPSE Consortium. Earlier in their career, Seth worked as a Research Assistant at Stanford University and as a Development Volunteer for the Peace Corps Mali. Seth also has experience as a documentary film producer, where they produced an award-winning documentary series for PBS and international television, focusing on sustainable rural development.

Seth Pollack holds a Ph.D in International Development Education and an M.A in Organizational Sociology, both from Stanford University, which they attended from 1993 to 1997. Seth also completed their B.A in International Affairs at the University of Colorado from 1977 to 1982. In 1979 and 1980, they studied Eastern Europe history and political philosophy at the Institute for European Studies.
