Sharmila Kassam

Sharmila (Shar) Kassam has a diverse work experience, starting in 2008 at the Employees Retirement System of Texas with roles such as Assistant General Counsel, Chief of Staff, and Deputy Chief Investment Officer. Sharmila (Shar) later founded Aligned Capital Investing, LLC, before moving on to roles at AIF Global, Sweetwater Private Equity, Foundation Credit, and the Milken Institute. Their most recent positions include work at Nasdaq, Greenbacker Capital, Calamos Investments, and serving as an Independent Board Director at Adit EdTech.

Sharmila (Shar) Kassam obtained a BBA in Accounting with Honors from The University of Texas at Austin. Sharmila (Shar) then went on to earn their J.D. from The University of Texas School of Law. Additionally, they hold certifications in Public Treasury Management - Investments from Pepperdine Graziadio Business School, a Texas Bar License obtained in 2005, a California Bar License obtained in 2003, and is a Certified Public Accountant licensed by the Texas State Board of Public Accountancy since 1998.
