Joannie Thomas is an experienced Human Resources Generalist currently with Calcasieu Parish Police Jury since July 2009, responsible for managing all aspects of the employee life cycle, providing assistance with medical concerns, and ensuring compliance with policies such as FMLA and ADA. Prior to this role, Joannie served as an Administrative Support Technician, where the responsibilities included processing new hires, supporting HR projects, and maintaining departmental documents. Joannie began the career in April 2007 as a Data Entry Clerk at Forum Oilfield Technology, where duties involved data management, scheduling, and documentation. Education was completed at Lake Charles Christian School with a High School Diploma in General Studies.

Calcasieu Parish (pronounced CAL-ca-shoo) is located in Southwest Louisiana and has a population of 192,768. Two regular meetings are held each month, usually on the first and third Thursdays with a committee night held monthly on the fourth Thursday.
