Jose Alonso

Jose Alonso is a co-founder and CEO of Caldo Restaurant Technologies, a company focused on replacing mundane and hazardous work with more rewarding opportunities.

Prior to that, they served as an investor for Rich Products Ventures, the corporate venture arm of Rich Products Corporation. In this role, they managed a $100 million fund that supported companies looking to expand in B2B and direct-to-consumer food channels.

Jose also worked as a consultant for Five Suns Foods and as a Program Lead and Co-Creator at Food Innovation Studio.

Jose gained culinary experience as a Line Cook at Maito Restaurant Group / Grupo Acurio.

Before diving into the food industry, Jose had a background in finance. Jose worked at Citi as a Senior Associate in Latin America M&A Investment Banking and as an Analyst in Project & Infrastructure Finance.

Jose also had a summer analyst position at GE Transportation, where they conducted financial analysis evaluating the operations of the locomotive and rail business.

At the Government Development Bank for Puerto Rico, Jose was a Summer Analyst who researched and presented innovation project recommendations to the bank's board of directors. One of their notable achievements during this time was convincing the bank to evaluate its capital adequacy via a stress test, which led to significant operational reforms and reduced lending exposure.

Jose Alonso completed their Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of California, Berkeley, Haas School of Business from 2017 to 2019. Prior to that, they obtained a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Finance and Economics from Boston College, where they studied from 2007 to 2011. Additionally, Jose participated in a study abroad program at Universitat Pompeu Fabra in 2010. Jose also holds several certifications, including Series 63, Series 7, and Series 79, although specific details regarding the institutions and years of completion are not provided.
