Katherine Murphy

Katherine Murphy is an experienced legal and regulatory professional currently serving as the Executive Director of Legal and Regulatory Services at Calgary Police Service since April 2022, where responsibilities include leading key sections and reporting to the Chief of Police. Prior to this role, Katherine held various positions at Canada Energy Regulator from July 2012 to April 2022, including Vice-President, Chief of Staff and Corporate Secretary, and Associate General Counsel, managing strategic governance support and legal advice on complex issues. Katherine started a legal career as an Associate Lawyer at Borden Ladner Gervais LLP and Osler, Hoskin & Harcourt LLP, focusing on energy project regulatory approvals and legislative advice. Katherine holds a Bachelor of Laws from Dalhousie University - Schulich School of Law and a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry from Acadia University.
