Janea Scott is an experienced professional in environmental policy and renewable energy. Currently serving as Senior Counselor to the Assistant Secretary for Land and Minerals at the U.S. Department of the Interior since January 2021, Janea previously held the position of Vice Chair and Commissioner at the California Energy Commission from April 2013 to January 2021. Janea also served as Deputy Counselor for Renewable Energy at the Department of the Interior between April 2009 and March 2013, and worked as a Senior Attorney at the Environmental Defense Fund from September 2000 to April 2009. Janea's academic background includes a degree from Stanford University and further education at the University of Colorado.
