Todd Aghazadeh

Todd is a Senior Associate with Calibre One and supports the Healthcare & Life Sciences executive recruitment practice by researching the market and engaging candidates. Analogous to R&D in the biopharma industry, his work covers mapping and meeting: mapping the biotech and health space and meeting new people to learn about their career paths.

He has a bachelor’s in integrative biology from UC Berkeley and has always focused on talent acquisition in life sciences and healthcare. His first job was in a top-billing start-up group within a temp staffing and contingency search firm where associates led BD, search execution and candidate outreach throughout the SF Bay Area life sciences community. Later he moved into retained executive recruitment and has supported a wide range of projects: across the R&D pipeline; into manufacturing, commercialization, and healthcare delivery; for clients big and small, both early stage and public; with candidates in the US, the UK, and the EU; and covering most all therapeutic areas, treatment modalities and bio-technology sub-sectors.

Early mentors impressed the value of meeting every local candidate and client, the importance of relationships, the power of the Platinum Rule, and how to guide a smooth process so new hires feel welcomed in their new roles. Later leaders in executive recruitment taught by example—each with different backgrounds, including five-star hospitality, a scientist in toxicology and pharmacology, and from venture capital investment—delivering results and advice with care, context and expert asset analysis.

While serving as head of knowledge management in a previous firm, a professional honor was hiring and building a new research support team. Including and beyond informed data entry and valuable industry research, each team member followed their strengths and flourished into team training and technical writing roles.
