Karin Lin

Karin Lin is a Senior Scientist at Calico Life Sciences, where responsibilities include the deployment of in vitro, in vivo, and computational methods to examine cellular stress responses relevant to tissue and organismal homeostasis, as well as their dysregulation in disease and aging. Karin combines genetic mouse models and pharmacological tools with various strategies, such as single-cell RNA sequencing and lipidomics, to investigate stress pathway activation across different cell types and tissues and explores the therapeutic potential of modulators in pre-clinical models. Previous experience includes serving as a Scientist at Denali Therapeutics, where research focused on lipid metabolism in glial cells related to neurodegenerative diseases, and an instructional role at the University of San Francisco. Education includes a PhD in Neuroscience from the University of California, San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacology from The University of British Columbia.
