Katherine Labbé

Katherine Labbé is a Principal Scientist at Calico Life Sciences since July 2021, having previously held the position of Senior Scientist. Prior to this, Katherine worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of California, Davis from April 2013 to July 2021, where research focused on molecular mechanisms linking mitochondrial behavior to cell stress responses under the supervision of Dr. Jodi Nunnari. Katherine has a strong background in immunology and biochemistry, with a PhD in Microbiology and Immunology from McGill University, where doctoral research involved the genetic characterization of the inflammasome in infections. Katherine has contributed to various academic initiatives, including organizing meetings on organelle biology and serving as a teaching assistant in physiology courses. Additionally, Katherine has received prestigious fellowships and awards throughout the academic career, demonstrating a significant commitment to health research.
