Snahel Patel

Snahel Patel is a distinguished expert in medicinal chemistry with extensive experience in drug discovery. Currently serving as the Head of Medicinal Chemistry at Calico Life Sciences since June 2025, Snahel is responsible for building the discipline from the ground up. Prior to this, Snahel held several leadership roles at Frontier Medicines, including Vice President, Head of Drug Discovery, where oversight included medicinal chemistry, platform chemistry, and CMC across multiple sites, as well as compound management and lab operations. Experience in medicinal chemistry also includes notable positions at Tenaya Therapeutics, Genentech, and Pfizer, emphasizing small molecule drug discovery and project leadership. Snahel's early career included research chemist internships at GSK, contributing to exploratory chemistry projects.
