Since 2016, Stephen Thesing has contributed his extensive experience with high-growth companies as Chief Business Officer at Calidi. For over 20 years, he has consistently demonstrated his efficacy as an executive leader and strategic dealmaker in multiple markets, regularly exceeding strategic business and revenue goals for both leading technology companies and startups. At Calidi, Thesing has raised $16M in Series A funding, and managed the global corporate operations, including serving as Managing Director for StemVac GmbH, a wholly-owned subsidiary based in Bernried, Germany. StemVac is a key contributor to Calidi’s Research & Development efforts and Manufacturing Process Development.
Prior to joining Calidi, Mr. Thesing served as Vice President of Business Development and Marketing for HiPaaS, an IT systems integrator for healthcare payers and providers, where he cultivated strategic partnerships with Dell Boomi and Qlik and closed deals with BlueCross-BlueShield organizations and San Francisco Health Plan between 2012 and 2016. Previously, Thesing held the positions of Vice President and General Manager at Civica Software, Inc., where he successfully grew both client and revenue figures and restructured the business before it was acquired by Granicus, Inc. in 2015.
As Vice President, Business Development and Marketing, at Parametric Sound, since acquired by Turtle Beach, Thesing facilitated direct sales to Dolby, Microsoft, and McDonald’s Corporation—increasing the company’s market value as well as accelerating its exit and sale. From 2008 to 2011, Thesing served as Vice President, of Channels and OEM at Anakam, Inc., acquired by Equifax in 2011, where he closed channel partnerships with IBM Healthcare and HP, and negotiated a $12 million deal with HP Enterprise Services. Earlier in his career as a seasoned corporate growth professional, Thesing also held various leadership positions at Dot Hill Systems—acquired by Seagate Technology, Troika Networks—acquired by Qlogic, Veritas Software Corporation, Sun Microsystems—acquired by Oracle, NeXT Computer, where Thesing had the privilege of interfacing with Steve Jobs, and Hewlett Packard. He holds a BS in Business, Information Systems, and Marketing from California Polytechnic University, San Luis Obispo.
