Divya Rao

Divya Rao is a legal professional currently serving as a Deputy Attorney General with the California Department of Justice since October 2019. Previous experience includes serving as a Judicial Law Clerk at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Oklahoma and working as a Contract Attorney at Cotchett, Pitre & McCarthy, LLP. Divya Rao began a legal career as a Legal Fellow with the California Reinvestment Coalition, contributing to research on consumer financial products and bank regulation. Additional experience includes roles as a Research Assistant at Cornell Law School and summer internships at the US Securities and Exchange Commission, New York City Law Department, and the Federal Trade Commission. Divya Rao holds a Juris Doctor degree from Cornell Law School and a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science/International Relations and Political Economy from Carleton College.
