Colin Hanley is a Senior Engineer at the California Department of Water Resources, specializing in large-scale flood risk reduction and habitat enhancement projects within the Division of Multibenefit Initiatives since July 2021. Prior to this role, Colin served as a Senior Water Resources Engineer at FlowWest, LLC from September 2015 to July 2021, where responsibilities included developing river restoration and fish passage designs, as well as conducting hydrologic and hydraulic modeling. Colin also has experience as a Water Resources Engineer in the Fish Passage Improvement Program at DWR from May 2010 to September 2015, focusing on habitat restoration for aquatic species. Additional engineering positions include roles at Mead & Hunt, swanson hydrology + geomorphology, Cunningham Engineering Corporation, and an early position as a Student Assistant at Caltrans. Colin holds a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from the University of California, Davis, a study abroad experience in Civil & Environmental Engineering at the University of Canterbury, and completed graduate coursework in River Restoration at the University of California, Berkeley.
