Kaveh Zamani

Kaveh Zamani is a Senior Water Resources Engineer at the California Department of Water Resources since July 2022, where responsibilities include supervising engineers and serving as Deputy Chief & Chief of Operations during the Winter 2023 California Floods. Zamani has extensive academic experience as an adjunct faculty member at California State University - East Bay and Cal Poly Humboldt, teaching courses related to engineering and fluid mechanics. Previous roles include hydraulic and hydrology work at Caltrans, involvement with the American Society of Civil Engineers as an associate editor for a journal, and engineering positions focusing on stormwater and urban hydrology across several organizations. Kaveh Zamani holds a Ph.D. in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the University of California, Davis, along with several other advanced degrees in engineering and applied mathematics.
