Joshua Tamayo-Sarver

Joshua Tamayo-Sarver, MD, PhD, FACEP, FAMIA has a diverse work experience. Joshua is currently serving as the Vice President of Innovation at Inflect Health since December 2020. In 2019, they co-founded Talk-a-While, Child and Family Therapy Center PC, where they hold the position of President. Prior to that, Dr. Tamayo-Sarver worked at Vituity, where they served as the Vice President of Innovation from April 2019 and as the Vice President of Informatics from January 2017 to April 2019. Joshua also worked as the Director of Business Intelligence at Vituity from July 2008 to December 2016. Dr. Tamayo-Sarver is an Advisory Board Member of the Trustworthy Technology and Innovation in Healthcare Book Series, starting in June 2023. Joshua has been an Emergency Medicine Physician at Good Samaritan Hospital, Los Gatos since July 2008. In 2009, Dr. Tamayo-Sarver founded InterfaceED Solutions, LLC, where they served as the Founder and Chief Strategy Officer until June 2020.

Joshua Tamayo-Sarver, MD, PhD, FACEP, FAMIA completed their Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Harvard University from 1993 to 1998. Joshua then pursued both their Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degrees in Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics, respectively, at Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine from 1998 to 2005. In 2008 to 2009, they completed a fellowship in Research and Administration at Vituity. Prior to their higher education, they attended Athens High School from 1989 to 1993.

Dr. Tamayo-Sarver also holds several certifications, including Emergency Medicine Certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine, obtained in December 2019, and Clinical Informatics from the American Board of Preventive Medicine, obtained in January 2014. Joshua is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians, obtained in 2011, and obtained their initial Emergency Medicine certification from the American Board of Emergency Medicine in December 2009.
