Rodney Borger, MD has been a board member since 2012. He has also held the roles of medical director and chair of the department of emergency medicine at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center since 2002. Under Dr. Borger’s active leadership, Arrowhead Regional Medical Center’s emergency department was awarded the 2006 Management of Excellence Award, Honorable Mention from the California Association of Public Hospitals, the 2006 Certificate of Recognition from Golden Guardian, and the 2006 Practice of the Year Award from Vituity. Dr. Borger was instrumental in the establishment of Arrowhead's Osteopathic Residency in Emergency Medicine in 2004 and its Emergency Medicine Physician Assistant Fellowship in 2011.
He was personally recognized with the 2012 San Bernardino County Medical Society Outstanding Contribution to the Community Award and the 2011 Medical Board of California Humanitarian Award and was named one of the 2010 Best Physicians in the Inland Empire. In 2010, he also received a Special Recognition Award from the California Chapter of the American College of Emergency Physicians for political advocacy work. Dr. Borger was instrumental in forming the San Bernardino County Medical Reserve Corps, where he served as commander. Former governor Arnold Schwarzenegger appointed him to the California Department of Public Health Advisory Committee.
Dr. Borger earned his medical degree at Loma Linda University in 1993 and completed his residency at Loma Linda University Medical Center in 1996.
