Alexandria Carrion has extensive experience in arts education and studio management, currently serving as Technical Faculty and Director of the Super Shop at the California Institute of the Arts since July 2005, where responsibilities include overseeing a 10,000 sq. ft. facility. Previous roles include serving as a Summer-Fall Assistant at Haystack Mountain School of Crafts in 2004, performing gallery preparatory work and front office assistance, and as Metals Studio Manager at Cranbrook Academy of Art from 2002 to 2004, where responsibilities included managing travel arrangements for visiting artists and studio operations. Carrion began a career in research as an Associate Librarian for Entertainment Weekly Magazine at Time Inc. from 1996 to 2002, focusing on pop culture research. Educational qualifications include an MFA in Metalsmithing from Cranbrook Academy of Art and a BFA in Sculpture & Metals from The University of Texas at Austin.
