Head Of Lighting Design Masters Lighting Program at California Institute of the Arts

Anne Militello is a distinguished lighting designer with extensive experience in artistic architectural applications and installations. Since 1997, Anne has served as President and Principal Designer at Vortex Lighting, Inc., specializing in large-scale public light art, architectural lighting for luxury hotels and residences, and dramatic installations for museums and entertainment venues. In addition to this role, Anne has been the Head of the Lighting Design Masters Program at the California Institute of the Arts since 2010, overseeing curriculum development for both undergraduate and graduate degrees. With a background as an independent stage lighting designer since 1980, Anne has contributed to international theater, opera, and concert productions, including work at prestigious venues such as Broadway and Lincoln Center. Anne's previous experience also includes a position as Show Lighting Designer at Walt Disney Imagineering, where projects included the design of "Toontown" at Disneyland. Anne holds a Certificate of Completion in Lighting Design for Theater from Polakov's Studio and Forum of Stage Design.
