Corey Barber, LMFT, serves as the Clinical Director and Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at California Integrative Counseling Center since February 2021. Previously, Corey worked as a Therapist at Octave from July 2021 to July 2023 and provided couples counseling at the Gay Couples Institute from July 2016 to July 2021, focusing on research-based approaches such as the Gottman method for LGBT couples in the San Francisco Bay Area. Corey's background also includes academic counseling for students with disabilities at the University of San Francisco, where responsibilities included arranging accommodations and providing support services from July 2011 to June 2021. Earlier experience includes family therapy internships at Sutter Health and California Pacific Medical Center, along with a research internship at Boston University Center for Anxiety and Related Disorders, where recruitment efforts for a same-sex marriage study were coordinated. Corey holds a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from the University of San Francisco and a B.A. in Psychology from Boston University.
