Voice Faculty, California Jazz Conservatory at California Jazz Conservatory

Jocelyn Medina is an experienced music educator and professional vocalist, currently serving as a Vocal Jazz Instructor at Metropolitan State University of Denver and as Voice Faculty at both the University of Colorado Denver and California Jazz Conservatory. Since 2015, Jocelyn has been a voice faculty member at the Bloomingdale School of Music and has hosted the Sunday Vocal Jazz Jam Series since April 2015. Additional roles include teaching at New York Jazz Workshop and serving as an adjunct faculty member at La Guardia Community College. Prior teaching positions include roles at The Dalton School and leading the Voice Department at The True School of Music. Jocelyn holds a Bachelor of Music degree in Professional Music, with a focus on Vocal Jazz Performance from Berklee College of Music, and has a long-standing career as a professional vocalist, composer, and teacher, with ties to Running Tree Records since 2005.

The California Jazz Conservatory is a private music school in Berkeley, California. It is the only independent music conservatory in the United States devoted solely to jazz and related styles of music. Located in the Downtown Berkeley Arts District, the CJC offers Associate’s, Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Jazz Studies. The Conservatory also offers community education classes and workshops for instrumentalists and vocalists and precollege youth programs for beginning, intermediate and advanced musicians.
