Jason Carter has a diverse work experience in various organizations and roles. Jason is currently working as the Principal Education Administrator at Child Parent Institute since June 2021. In 2020, they served as a member of the Board of Directors for both the Made in Santa Rosa Foundation and the Sonoma State Alumni Association. From 2017 to 2021, Jason was involved in the Leadership Santa Rosa Alumni Association as part of Class XXXIV. Jason also contributed to the County of Sonoma as a member of the UPstream Investments Policy Committee from 2018 to 2021. Jason was a committee member for the Sonoma County Funder's Circle from 2016 to 2021. In the City of Santa Rosa, Jason held the positions of Violence Prevention Manager from 2016 to 2021 and Community Engagement Director from 2019 to 2020. Additionally, they actively participated in the Juvenile Justice Coordinating Council and the Keeping Kids in School Steering Committee at Sonoma County Probation from 2015 to 2021. Jason was a member of the California Violence Prevention Network, a non-profit organization focused on reducing youth and gang violence, from 2016 to 2021. Lastly, they contributed to Health Action Sonoma County's Cradle to Career initiative from 2017 to 2021.

Jason Carter has a Master of Public Administration degree with a specialization in Organizational Leadership from National University. Jason also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Sonoma State University, where they studied at the Hutchins School of Liberal Studies. In addition, Jason has earned an Associate in Arts degree in Child Development with Highest Honors and an Associate in Arts degree in Social and Behavioral Sciences with Highest Honors from Santa Rosa Junior College. Jason is also a Gallup-Certified Organizational Development Trainer, having obtained this certification from Gallup Management Consulting in 2014.
