Joe Gomes

Chief of Plant Operations at California Science Center

Joe Gomes has a diverse work experience, starting with their role as an Automotive Technician at Citrus Motors from June 1992 to June 2001. Joe then transitioned to become the Owner of Gomes General Maintenance in 1995, where they performed general maintenance tasks for multi-unit apartment complexes, including plumbing, electrical work, masonry, HVAC, and landscaping. In 2001, Joe joined Norwalk/La Mirada USD as a Grounds leadman, responsible for overseeing the grounds maintenance. In 2014, they joined the California Science Center, initially serving as the Supervisor of Building Trades until September 2016 when they were promoted to Chief of Plant Operations. Currently, there is no specified end date for their role at the California Science Center.

Joe Gomes attended the University of Redlands from 2011 to 2013, where they obtained a Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.) degree with a focus on Business Administration and Management. Prior to that, they studied at the University of Phoenix from 2005 to 2007, earning an Associate of Arts (A.A.) degree in Business Administration and Management. Joe Gomes also attended Cerritos College from 1992 to 1994, where they obtained an Associate of Science (A.S.) degree in Automobile/Automotive Mechanics Technology/Technician.
