Kenneth Phillips

Curator for Aerospace Science at California Science Center

Kenneth Phillips has a diverse work experience spanning over several decades. Kenneth began their career as an Apprentice Engineer at Greiner Engineering Sciences, where they focused on preparing Environmental Impact Statements and Reports for construction projects. During this time, they conducted calculations and analyses related to surface water runoff and hydrology changes. Following this, Kenneth joined The RAND Corporation as an Associate Engineer, where they served as a research analyst in the Department of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Kenneth'sprojects at RAND included researching water management strategies for the Netherlands and analyzing the costs and projected performance of a synthetic fuels industry in the U.S. After their tenure at RAND, Kenneth joined the California Science Center as a Curator for Aerospace Science, contributing to the development and curation of exhibits related to aerospace. Currently, Kenneth holds the position of Adjunct Professor of Physics and Astronomy at the University of Southern California.

Kenneth Phillips holds a Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering from The Johns Hopkins University, which they obtained between the years 1973 and 1977. Prior to that, they completed their Master of Science degree in General Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison from 1971 to 1972. Kenneth'sundergraduate studies were focused on Physics, earning him a Bachelor of Science degree from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University, which they attended from 1967 to 1971.
