Derek Williams

Derek Williams is an accomplished technology professional with extensive experience in various academic and service environments. Currently serving as the University Open Lab Coordinator at California State University, Long Beach since February 2022, Derek previously held the role of Technology Operations Supervisor at the USC Jimmy Iovine and Andre Young Academy from January 2019 to February 2022. Prior to that, Derek worked as a Learning Environments Technical Support Specialist at USC School of Pharmacy and spent ten years at EDMC as a Desktop Analyst II and Service Bureau Manager, supporting a large network of Apple and Microsoft Windows computers. Earlier career highlights include a position as a Mac Genius at Apple Inc. and a Microcomputer Specialist III role at San Bernardino City Unified School District, focusing on hardware installation and technical support. Derek earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Systems Networking and Telecommunications from the University of Phoenix between 2004 and 2006.
