Director, New Student & Family Programs

Jesse Ramirez has over 30 years of experience in higher education, specifically at California State University, Long Beach, where the career began in 1993. Currently serving as the Director of New Student & Family Programs since June 1996, Jesse has held multiple leadership positions including Senior Associate Director and various interim director roles within the same department. Prior roles include Associate Director and Interim Director of SOAR, Assistant Director of SOAR, and Co-Director at the Jensen SAS Center. Jesse's educational background includes a Bachelor of Arts in History and Chicano/Latino Studies and a Master of Science in Student Development in Higher Education, both obtained from California State University, Long Beach, along with an Associate’s Degree in General Education from Santa Monica College.
