Marita Swanson

Marita Swanson, SPHR, SHRM-SCP, currently serves as the Associate Vice President for Human Resources Management at California State University, Long Beach, where strategic leadership is provided for employee programs, people strategy, and leadership development for a team of 42. Prior roles include Interim AVP for Human Resources Management and Director of Human Resources at the same institution, overseeing payroll, benefits, and collective bargaining agreements. Marita has also held the position of Vice President of Human Resources at Irwin Holdings, managing HR functions across multiple companies in the energy, real estate, and finance sectors. Earlier experience includes serving as Director of Human Resources at CAM Commerce Solutions, where an HR department was established, and as Human Resources Manager at DXC Technology. Marita holds a Doctor of Law degree from Loyola Law School and a Bachelor of Arts degree from UCLA.
