Aglaia Mortcheva

Aglaia Mortcheva is a distinguished Professor of Animation at California State University, Northridge, where tenure began in January 2018, concurrently serving as Adjunct Faculty at CSULB Animation and the CSUN Department of Art. Mortcheva has a longstanding affiliation with The Art Institutes, providing instruction since January 2011 and at The Art Institute of California, Media Arts and Animation until January 2025. Prior industry experience includes roles as a character designer at notable companies such as Fox Broadcasting Company, Nickelodeon, and Klasky Csupo, with additional contributions as a designer/layout artist at film roman. Mortcheva holds two MFA degrees: one in Animation from UCLA, obtained between 1996 and 2000, and another in Film and TV directing from the National Academy of Film and TV, completed from 1989 to 1994.
