Sandeep Sharma

Sandeep Sharma has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries. Sandeep is currently serving as an Assistant General Counsel at Calliditas Therapeutics since 2022. Prior to this, they held a similar role at Lonza from 2018 to 2022.

Before joining Lonza, Sandeep worked at Merck for a significant period. Sandeep served in various capacities, including Counsel -- International Legal Group; HQ Team from 2015 to 2018, Counsel from 2004 to 2018, and Asia Pacific Regional Counsel from 2013 to 2015. As the Asia Pacific Regional Counsel, Sandeep had primary responsibility for selected regional business development projects, general compliance initiatives, and support for marketing and sales initiatives in the Asia Pacific region. Sandeep successfully managed and led multiple projects in Vietnam.

Sandeep's legal career started at Schulte Roth & Zabel LLP, where they worked as an Associate from 2004 to 2004. Sandeep also gained valuable experience as an Associate at Fried Frank from 1999 to 2004.

Their early career in the Treasury Group at Export Development Canada from 1992 to 1993 provided an initial foundation for their professional journey.

Sandeep Sharma obtained a Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law between 1997 and 1999. Prior to that, from 1987 to 1990, Sandeep Sharma completed a Bachelor of Commerce degree at McGill University, specializing in Finance and International Business.
