David Nesbitt has a diverse work experience that spans multiple roles and industries. David started their career as an English as a Second Language Instructor at IES Abyla in October 2011 and continued in the role until May 2012. In November 2011, they also began working as a Private English Tutor on a self-employed basis, and this role lasted until May 2012.
After that, David worked briefly as a Customer Service representative at Lakeland from October to December 2012. In January 2012, they joined Prospects for People with Learning Disabilities UK as a Support Worker Level 2, where they built relationships with individuals and helped them fulfill their day-to-day needs. This role ended in September 2014.
Moving on, David pursued their academic career and joined Queen's University Belfast in December 2015 as a PhD Researcher. During their time there, they achieved significant accomplishments in the field of speech enhancement, including developing a real-time system in C++, reducing processing time and memory usage through novel research, and demonstrating system viability on a Raspberry Pi Zero. David also served as a Teaching Assistant from September 2017 to June 2019, supporting the academic needs of students.
Most recently, David joined Calnex Solutions in March 2020 as a Software Engineer and was subsequently promoted to the role of Senior Software Engineer in October 2022. The details of their current position are not provided.
David Nesbitt completed their education at Queen's University Belfast. David first earned a Bachelor's degree in Theology with Spanish from 2007 to 2011. Afterwards, they pursued a Master's degree in Software Development from 2014 to 2015. Finally, they obtained a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Computer Science from 2015 to 2020. In addition to their degrees, they also obtained the ISTQB Certified Tester Foundation Level certification from the ISTQB - International Software Testing Qualifications Board in April 2015.
