Basil Latif

Basil Latif is a Data Scientist at CALSTART on the Validation and Assessment team. He is working on creating and maintaining new ways to use data science and data analytics to communicate key findings on CALSTART projects. He is working on the CA Air Board API, NeoRide Database, and Frito Lay projects currently. He is excited about all transportation data and wants to get involved with as many projects as possible.

Prior to this position, he was an independent freelancer working with many data-driven businesses. He earned the title of “Top Rated Plus” freelancer on Upwork.com which meant he was in the top 10% of freelancers in terms of money earned. In over a year freelancing, he engaged top startups in the Bay Area, helped local businesses digitize their processes, and helped numerous businesses with data collection and automation.

He holds a BS in Computer Science from Loyola Marymount University and received a scholarship to get his MS in Business Analytics from UC Irvine.
