Clare Bachman

Project Manager I at CALSTART

Clare Bachman joined the CALSTART team in March 2022 as the Fleet Technical Assistance Project Manager. In her role, she works directly with small-fleet owners and independent owner-operators across California in their navigation of incentive programs like HVIP and Energiize. In addition to providing technical assistance to smaller trucking companies, Clare assists in the integration of financing tools for drayage fleets and the buildout of financing programs tailored towards small drayage fleets. She is dedicated to increasing CALSTART’s engagement with smaller fleets, community-based organizations and disadvantaged communities through CALSTART’s Transforming Trucks Transforming Communities (TTTC) initiative.

In her previous role, Clare worked alongside the Advocacy and Public Policy team at Los Angeles-based Breathe Southern California where she supported clean transportation initiatives and efforts to decrease local diesel emissions. Her background is in the nonprofit sector, and she comes to CALSTART with experience in mission-driven campaigns, progressive organizing, community outreach, communications, public policy, and fundraising development.

She holds a B.A. from the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she double majored in Political Science and International Studies with a Minor in Spanish.
