Elizabeth Szulc joined CALSTART in December 2020 as an Associate Project Manager, Policy Development & Support. In this role, Elizabeth helps to advance CALSTART’s policy priorities at the state and federal level, through stakeholder engagement, coalition building, and participation in legislative and regulatory processes.
Elizabeth joined CALSTART after several years as a carbon offset researcher and consultant, first as a Carbon Neutrality Initiative Fellow for the University of California, and then as a Staff Research Associate II at the Institute for Energy Efficiency. During these years, Elizabeth authored a guidebook on developing local carbon offset programs, consulted with on-campus researchers and stakeholders on the generation of carbon credits, and provided support for several phases of a University RFI and pilot project funding program. In addition, Elizabeth has experience in environmental policy and government relations from her time as an intern for The Wilderness Society.
Elizabeth holds a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies (Emphasis: Environmental Law and Policy) and Geography from the University of California Santa Barbara.
