Vanessa Janissen

Vanessa commenced with Calvary in September 2019 as NSW Regional Chief Executive Officer. In February 2020, Vanessa was appointed to National Director Strategy & Service Development. In this role, Vanessa leads and facilitates the development of the strategy across Calvary, focusing on insight and data driven information to inform plans that support Calvary’s Strategic Intent. Through these plans the Strategy and Service Development group assist the organisation to change and grow including through the realisation of capital development priorities.

Vanessa has over 20 years’ experience in the public health arena, leading clinical services and implementing strategic reform. She is committed to serving the community and helping teams transform health services by listening to patients, families and staff, and leveraging scientific and technology disruption. Vanessa has senior level experience and qualifications in accounting, marketing, business administration as well as corporate governance.

Vanessa comes to us from NSW Health where she held the role of Executive Director of Strategy and Clinical Services Transformation for NSW Health Pathology – a state-wide organisation she helped establish in 2012 which operates 64 pathology and forensic scientific laboratories across NSW. In this role Vanessa and her team delivered significant efficiencies and service outcomes by bringing in new approaches to planning, performance, ICT, logistics, change management, risk and business analytics.
