Carrie Akins

Carrie Akins currently serves as the Director of Career and Technical Education and Principal at the Career and Technology Academy with Calvert County Public Schools since July 2019. Prior experience includes various roles in Charles County Public Schools from July 2005 to June 2019, such as Specialist in Career and Technical Education, Middle School Principal, Assistant Principal, and High School English Teacher, as well as a High School English Teacher at Manassas Park High School from July 2002 to June 2005. Academic qualifications include ongoing doctoral studies at Old Dominion University in Organization and Workforce Development, as well as completed Master of Science in School Leadership and Administration from The George Washington University, and a Bachelor of Science in English Education from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
